Shepherd's Cross fiber is produced right here on the farm, and our farm is Animal Welfare Approved. Our sheep and alpaca free range on the luxurious hillsides of North Eastern Oklahoma. We were living by the
standards of sustainable agriculture before the term was coined. Our wool is produced in a 100% natural manner.
We wash our fiber here on the farm with our own hand made, natural soap. Our woollen and alpaca fibers are available in batts, roving, or hand picked variety packs.
Saddle blankets are approximately one inch thick when complete, and are hand stitched with a blanket stitch around the edge. In the process of making the saddle blanket we use fleece from approximately two shearings or 33 hand carded batts.
Our sheep and alpaca are a variety of natural colors, and consequently our fibers come in a variety of natural colors as well as hand dyed colors.
We hand dye our own colors with GayWool Dyes, right here on the farm.
Wool products are naturally fire resistant, warm during cool weather and cool during warm weather. Wool products are durable, and many last for decades.
Products available include: roving, batts, yarn, felt pelts, felt pads, saddle blankets, woven blankets, dusters, potpourri sachets, trivets, hand dyed yarns and fibers, woven and knit apparel and much more.
